This painting, Thought Experiment (2021), unfolds like a collision of memory and imagination. On the left, fragmented figures emerge from the shadows—faces, animals, and abstract shapes tangled together in a dense, almost theatrical cluster. Their presence feels ghostly, like fleeting recollections caught between clarity and dissolution.
In contrast, the right side opens into light and spaciousness. Warm hues of orange, yellow, and pale pink dissolve into soft abstractions, suggesting expansion, transformation, or perhaps the untethering of thought from material form. The fluidity of brushstrokes creates movement, as though one is crossing from the tangible into the abstract realm of possibility.
The juxtaposition of dense figuration and airy abstraction mirrors the very nature of a thought experiment: the negotiation between reality and imagination. It evokes a space where logic, dreams, and memory overlap, reminding us that understanding is often born at the threshold between the seen and the unseen.
