A lone figure sits in the lower right, bent over a small sheet of paper, fingers delicate and face lit with private attention. Rendered with carefully modeled brushwork, she reads like a memory caught in profile—intimate, silent, and resolute against the surrounding abstraction.
Around her, a cavernous interior of arches, pillars and shifting planes unfolds: pale mauves, warm ochres and a cool cascade of aquamarine that pours like light through a ruptured wall. Textures alternate between smooth light washes and rough, sculpted impasto, suggesting both built space and a dissolving dreamscape.
The painting balances presence and void—private ritual set against a luminous, ambiguous architecture. It feels like a meditation on attention: what remains when we pause, and how inner life illuminates the world.
