This artwork, Las Meninas (Velázquez Improvisation) Night, reimagines the Baroque masterpiece through a kaleidoscope of expressive color and abstraction. Shapes emerge from layers of luminous blues, golds, and violets, where figures and space blur into rhythmic strokes of light and shadow. The familiar composition is dissolved into dreamlike fragments, evoking both memory and transformation.
At the center, the glowing figure of the Infanta radiates in yellows and greens, a beacon of innocence surrounded by an atmosphere of mystery. Around her, ghostly presences of attendants and courtiers materialize in shifting tones, their forms half-absorbed into the swirling background. Even Velázquez himself is suggested, not in detail but as a spectral witness embedded in the vibrant field.
