Composition with the Mask unfolds as a surreal stage where fragments of history, myth, and modernity collide. A noblewoman in Renaissance attire stands near a vase of flowers, her calm presence contrasting the fractured, dreamlike world around her. The tiled floor stretches into infinity, evoking both order and distortion.
At the horizon, a monumental mask floats, its stoic face gazing over the scene as a silent witness. Nearby, a horseman charges forward, his figure pulled from antiquity, suspended between action and myth. The chessboard-like patterns and shifting geometries create a sense of instability, as though the ground itself is slipping between dimensions.
A modern chair anchors the right side, a reminder of the present intruding into this timeless collage. The artwork weaves together cultural symbols, suggesting that identity and meaning are always mediated by masks—faces we present, inherit, or imagine. It becomes a meditation on the layered theater of existence, where eras, roles, and myths coexist in one surreal composition.
